SPRINGFIELD'S ELECTED
OFFICIALS
Springfield is governed by a Mayor and four City Commission members, each representing a Ward. All serve two-year terms. The Mayor and Commissioners of Wards Three and Four are elected one year (next election, April, 2009) and the Commissioners of Wards One and Two are elected the next year (next election, April , 2010). The Mayor chairs and is a voting member of the City Commission.

Robert Walker has been a resident of Springfield virtually all of his life. He is a respected contractor in the area. Mayor Walker is serving his fifth term in office as Mayor of Springfield. |

Ralph Hammond was sworn in as Commissioner of Ward 2 April 25th, 2006 and is currently serving his 2nd term. Mr Hammond is a retired Air Force and Vietnam Veteran. He has resided in Springfield since 1983. He expresses a sincere interest in the affairs of Springfield. |
