UPCOMING ELECTION 2009

OUR CITY REQUIRES BOTH VALIDATED SIGNATURE PETITIONS AND A QUALIFYING FEE TO RUN FOR OFFICE. ALL CITIES, INCLUDING THE CITY OF SPRINGFIELD, ARE REQUIRING ALL CANDIDATES TO HAVE THEIR SIGNATURE PETITIONS TO RUN FOR OFFICE BE TURNED IN BY NOON OF JANUARY 12, 2009 TO THE BAY COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTION'S OFFICE. THIS DEADLINE IS ESTABLISHED TO GIVE THE BAY COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS OFFICE TIME TO VALIDATE ALL SIGNATURE PETITIONS. BECAUSE OUR CITY REQUIRES BOTH VALIDATED SIGNATURE PETITIONS  AND A QUALIFYING FEE TO RUN FOR OFFICE, IF YOU DO NOT TURN IN YOUR SIGNATURE PETITIONS TO THE BAY COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS BY NOON OF JANUARY 12TH, 2009, YOU WILL NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY TO RUN FOR OFFICE. ANY ONE HAVING QUESTIONS SHOULD DIRECT THOSE QUESTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK'S OFFICE.
